Resembles the period ivory hooks used for centuries.  All surfaces are polished and smooth, will not snag your yard, cord or floss.  This bone hook will age to a golden patina just like the ivory originals.  When working on white yarns, hooks were sometimes dyed with tea to darken them and make them stand out against the lighter project.  This treatment also brings out the grained pattern in the bone.  The oils in wool and friction of crocheting will make the hook even more polished and smooth in time.

Our hand-carved bone crocheting hook is ideal for your historic site's displays and demonstrations.  Since these are hand-carved bone, they may not all be identical in size and may be best used for authentic-style fun projects or for short demonstrations and historical display purposes only.  Hand-carved bone hook is 6 inches long.
