| Our customer Carol from Michigan, USA writes us: To the Folks at River Junction, I received my partial order and just want you to know how satisfied that I am. My first reaction seeing the blue calico print on the two-piece was, "My, how very lovely." I love the walking skirt----what a gorgeous design. And the tie and apron are darling, too.....just the right accessories. It is great to see very well-made clothing. I'll proudly tell people where I got my "authentic" reenactment clothing. Know that you have a very satisfied customer. And I was glad to see the tag, "Made in America." Have a most wonderful day AND year.
This is our basic ladies Victorian walking skirt that can be used in several time eras. A five-gored skirt which has a smooth front and pleats in the back, is very flattering. There is a center back opening and a buttoned waistband. An over-skirt can be added for a '70s and '80s look, but can be worn as a '90s skirt as well. This is a good garment from which to begin building your wardrobe. Sizes are by waist measurement. Skirt length is 41 in.
To accessorize or dress up a plain skirt (see third and fourth photos on this page), ladies would add one or more horizontal trim rows to their skirt's bottom. River Junction now offers the same to you for an additional fee, starting with a row of about 1/2 inch wide (seamstress' choice will vary from trim-to-trim) black fancy braided trim sewn five inches from the bottom of the hem. Just leave us a note with your online order you would like non-standard option(s), for example: have more than one row added at three (or whatever) inch increments from bottom ~ choose white or ivory trim instead of black ~ will send your own trim (you must first contact us for details, pricing, yardage needed). Note: If your trim is not River Junction's or your skirt's size or length has been altered, your skirt is not returnable, exchangeable or refundable. If ordering trim, please add 1 extra week sewing time to the delivery estimate. |
