| Every day in the sweltering heat, wearing botas gave the American cowboy and Mexican vaquero a huge advantage over chaps. Much lighter weight than chaps, our leather botas ~ also known as leggings ~ were worn just below the knee to protect the lower leg during the hard day's work.
Perfect for cowboy, vaquero, scout, Indian or mountain-man impressions. These legging are hand-made in tan colored cowhide, with three large hand-rolled leather buttons on each leg. Large brass spots on top leather flap add interest. The leather top strap wraps around under the top flap and ties in front to secure them above your calf, below your knee. Generous leather strap tie adjusts for one-size-fits-most. Note: Leather button sides are worn on outside of leg to determine left v. right legging.
With wear, your botas will take on an authentic, aged look. All will have very small holes or natural scars ~ which add to their authenticity. Made in true Old West fashion, no piece of the animal's hide goes to waste. Our design represents what a cowboy's botas would have looked like after rugged ranch work or a long, hard ride on the trail. If you prefer your botas with no small holes, we will add $30 and ask you to allow us 3 weeks to make them up and then they will ship to you. |
