Unlike modern day eye wear. Most spectacle frames of
the1800's were " One size fits all." And with just a simple
adjustment to the bows could be fit to any one. This style
of frame proved to be both functional and comfortable.
The first step is to adjust the width of the frames.
Put the glasses on and hook the cables over your
ears. If the forward part of the bow is tight
( pressure near your temples ) A small " S" bend is needed

With a needle nose pliers grip the bow firmly near the hinge then using you thumb and forefinger bend the bow outward about 10 to 20 degrees
Next move the pliers 1 to 2 inches down the bow and bend the remainder inward about the same 10 to 20 degrees.
Repeat these steps on the other bow.
The next step is to adjust the length of the bows
Using your thumb and forefinger make a series of small bends in the cable part of the bow to lengthen or shorten the frames.
Next using your needle nose pliers put a sharp 20 to 30 degree bend this will help with the comfort under the ear.
