Fred Biffar is recognized for his Chicago-based business: "Fred Biffar & Co.". Fred Biffar & Co. was a retailer of sporting goods which sold firearms produced by various manufacturers under numerous trade names. This billy club patten was held by Biffar's company.
This 1921 Antique Metropolitan Police Club Night Stick is very unusual, and hard to find. This piece measures at 9" long, and is made of a hard compound-type rubber with a weighted core. There are no cracks, splits, or dents. This club is marked: "Metropolitan Police Club, Trade Mark Reg, Pat. June 28, 1921". The original leather wrist band is still attached.
