Tip Up Model, 7 shot revolver, birdshead grip, fluted cylinder, 3 3/16" barrel. Inside cylinder and inside barrel is dark but rifling is strong. This is a S&W Model No 1, Third issue revolver. It is a spur trigger, tip up model in 22 short caliber. This model was made between 1868 and 1881. The rosewood, bird head grips are in good condition retaining nearly all of the original varnish. The action operates perfectly if you hold the top cylinder spring down. The hinge is not broken. Overall it retains 80-85% of the original blue turning to plum brown finish. This is an ANTIQUE.
