.30 short rim fire caliber, 5 shot revolver marked on the top of the barrel "XXX Standard 1872", spur trigger, tip-up, 3rd variation with 3 in. round barrel and short fluted cylinder, marked J. M. Marlin New Haven, Ct. Pat. July 1, 1873. Manufactured from 1873 to 1876, production was approximately 10,000. Serial number 4999. This Marlin spur trigger revolver is mechanically perfect and unusually tight. The bore shows strong rifling with some minor pitting. All exterior metal is smooth with no rust or pitting. Grips are near perfect, but for a chip on the top of the right grip where it meets the frame. Great hideout gun for a gambler or Lady.
