Description

J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company Model 235- Double Hammer - 2 3/4 chamber - Production 1886-1915. This double barrel hammer gun has steel barrels and will handle low base modern loads. A great Cowboy Action gun or reenactor gun. This is a 12 gauge Stevens double barrel shotgun with 30" long blued (turning to plumb brown) barrels with ejectors & has a 1/2" wide rib in the center. It is a model 1878 with double outside hammers. The overall length of the gun is 46 1/2" with a stock that is 14" long. It has a 7 3/4" long forearm. This is a nice Stevens double barrel that has checkering on the forearm & the stock. The frame is totally brown & this gun has all the original parts & screws. It remain in very good tight shootable condition. The bores are bright and shiny with not pits. It has a 1/2" thick checkered butt plate that has in 5/16" high embossed letters Stevens. There are an assortment of dings on the wood but no cracks or chips all is sound. On the side of the receiver is J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A. No FFL required. J. Stevens Arms Company was founded in 1864 at Chicopee Falls, MA as J. Stevens & Co. In 1886 the name was changed to J. Stevens Arms and Tool Co.
