This Pocket Navy Revolver was Manufactured in 1861. The first year of its production. From 1861 to 1873 It is estimated that 60% of the production were the Police Model and 40% were the Pocket Navy. This Model 1862 Pocket Navy Pistol has ALL matching serial numbers including the wedge. It is a .36 caliber percussion, 5 shot with rebated full cylinder, 4 1/2", octagon barrel. Weight = 25 ounces. Cylinder stamped COLT PATENT with the serial # 2235.. Markings on its barrel ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S.A. The revolver has been professionally restored. The color case hardening has remarkably brilliant case colors. The blue is a deep rich blue. The bore has strong rifling showing some pitting. The cylinder show some drag marks and rotates and indexes properly. Most of these Pocket Navy Models were made into conversions, the percussion Model is rare as there were less than 22,000 manuf.
