Fine COLT Model 1849 Small Guard Pocket Revolver. 5 shot .31 cal. with 4Ó barrel having the early two line bracketed (ADDRESS SAML. COLT/NEW YORK CITY) address, with loading lever Weight = 24 ounces. Serial is #145816 and marked in all the appropriate places including the wedge. Cylinder engraved with the Stagecoach Holdup scene. This revolver has been professionally restored a long time ago. The cylinder scene is crisp and about 100% present.The color case hardening has remarkably brilliant case colors. The blue is a deep rich blue. The bore has strong rifling showing some pitting. The cylinder shows no drag marks and rotates and indexes properly.
