This A very RARE LITTLE HOPKINS & ALLEN - 1883 1ST MODEL "AMERICAN BULLDOG" in 38 S&W caliber - 5 SHOT CYLINDER - 2-1/2" ROUND BARREL - all matching numbers. Condition being VERY GOOD - about 85% remaining nickel with no surface rust. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Mechanical function is very good in double action and single action. When the trigger is held back in the fired position the lock up is very tight as it should be. The American Eagle grips are in excellent condition. It has an experiment or custom made hammer which is a marked improvement over the original. MARKINGS ARE CLEAR - NOT MUCH MORE TO SAY ABOUT THIS RARE CLASSIC SELDOM SEEN IN SUCH WONDERFUL CONDITION
