RJT#2520 -

Description

These are the relic remains of a mid 1800's plains rifle that was typically carried into the American frontier. It is approx. .40 cal and rifling shows in the  bore. It is a half stock style. I have had the lock out and it works. The tiger maple stock has many areas that have been filled with wood putty, but it would still display nicely over your fireplace or in a corner of a rustic room.  The lock, set triggers, brass buttplate and toe plate are all original. I think the triggerguard is a reproduction. It measures about
54 1/2" overall, the barrel about 38" with no markings that I can see. The muzzle is one inch across. The parts are probably worth more that I am asking, but I don't want to dismantle this piece of American History.
