z Sold ~ Revolver - 1st Generation Colt Single Action .38-40

 This is a Pre-War (aka First Generation) Colt Single Action Army Revolver with the desirable 4 3/4 inch barrel in .38-40 caliber.  Serial number is 268097, manufactured in 1905 .  Overall condition is very good smooth.  Metal mostly gray with a little blue in protected areas.

Shoots very well.  Bore has a frost of minor pitting from black powder loads, lands and grooves are sharp.  The right grip has a tiny chip out of the butt, otherwise grips are good with no cracks or scratches.  The action is crisp and mechanically perfect.   This gun has seen use but was well cared for.   

This 107 year old gun has aged gracefully.  Most metal is antique grey patina relatively smooth and clean.  Correct 2-line bbl address.  Very nice and readable as are all the markings.  Well-preserved firearm.
