z Sold ~ Antique Frontier Army Revolver with Antique holster

RJT#2562 -

Description

This revolver was made in Belgium for the American market in the 1880s. An interesting ANTIQUE REVOLVER in 44-40 WCF with a 5 3/8 in. barrel. It is stamped "Frontier Army" on the top strap. It locks up tight, cycles, and all parts function. These guns were offer by Sears Roebuck and Mongomery Wards in the 1880s.

The rear cylinder face shows"ELG" in an oval proof mark. The butt plate has a lanyard ring.  The gun has smooth brown patina throughout with fantastic Walnut grips. The trigger guard has a trigger guard spur. The spur indicates this is one of the earlier Frontier Army variations.
This is a smooth bore with a floating firing pin. My guess is these were modifications made for Wild West Show performances for use in shooting glass target balls.

These revolvers were carried in the Old West.
Included is the antique holster that came with the gun and was designed to fit its very unusual trigger guard. I include the holster only as a collectible. It would likely not stand up to regular use.

This is an ANTIQUE and can be shipped directly to you. Sold as an Antique ~ no guarantees, warranties, or liabilities for any actual usage. If any firearms are to be used for shooting purposes, a qualified gunsmith should inspect them first.
Adult Signature required.
