RJT#2585 -

Description

This round barreled 1851 Navy was apparently done by a hobby gunsmith many years ago.It once had an octagon barrel that has been rounded. You have to look close to see the work that was done. I don't believe this configuration existed in history. Maybe it is a copy of a transitional Navy sort of between a 1851 and an 1861. In any case it is unusual and sort of neat. The barrel is 5 1/4 inches long and the brass frame has been blackened to give it a London Model look. It is a .36 caliber and works perfectly and locks up as it should. The rifling is much stronger than the reproduction of today. I believe this is a very early Uberti. The grips have been enameled ivory color. I think these modifications were done in the 1960s before you could get all these models that are available today. A "One of a Kind" A unique addition to your reproduction revolver collection.
