In the era of top break revolvers, Smith & Wesson made the best. Their double action model was introduced in 1880. The internal mechanism of these guns was somewhat more complicated than other contemporary designs, and their price was about triple the average of the time. Quality sells though and they were very popular. Many of them are still in everyday use even though the cartridge they fire are of marginal power by today's standards. Serial # 402006 and all parts are matching. The five inch barrel is a nice feature that is not usually found. This gun has about 85% original blue.
Action works nicely with a black powder bore showing strong rifling. This is an ANTIQUE and can be shipped directly to you.
