Description

The Grant Commemorative is a 2nd Gen Colt model C9002 Year of Manufacture: 1971. In.36 Caliber Marked on the top barrel “Address SamL Colt New-York City”. The left barrel flat is inscribed, “Ulysses S. Grant Commemorative – Nineteen Seventy One”. The left side of the frame is stamped “Colt’s / Patent”. The Serial number “2780”. The cylinder is etched with the naval battle scene commemorating the battle of Campeche, and is inscribed, “Colt’s Patent No. 274 / Engraved by W L Ormsby, New York”, and “Engaged 16 May 1843.” The stocks are varnished wood, with nice grain in Excellent condition and well fitted to the frame. This revolver comes with a fitted wood case, emblazoned “Ulysses S. Grant Commemorative / Nineteen Seventy One”. A brass Colt medallion is inlaid into the top. There are two or three dings on the top of the lid. Inside, the box compartments are lined with blue velvet, and fitted inside are the revolver, a powder flask which is still in its sealed plastic envelope, a brass two-cavity bullet mold, a nipple wrench, and a period-style percussion cap container. The case key is included.
