Description

Antique Early 1800s Maritime Powderhorn with Cork Plugged butt It measures about
3 1/4"across the butt, and is about 16" long on the outside curve, with a 1/2" spout opening. The plug is missing but still has the hand twisted cord that it was once attached to. The other end of the cord passes through the butt of the and through the cork plug. It has nicely shaped 8 flats up to the spout. The cork butt plug is held by 5 hand made steel nails and has been painter over with thick gray paint. I believe the paint conceals an inch diameter fill cork. This is a plain storage horn inscribed with the initials E Z P. It has no cracks, chips or holes.
