RJT#2883 -

Description

.31 caliber, percussion, 5" octagon barrel with a very good bore which shows a strong rifling and very light scattered pitting. The barrel is primarily a smooth pewter grey and brown patina. The cylinder is a similar pewter grey and brown with a very crisp stagecoach holdup scene. The cylinder is five shot. The frame is primarily a pewter grey patina and shows the typical flowing scroll on the frame flats and atop the backstrap. The smooth walnut grips rate very good with much original oil finish, showing normal wear for the age. The barrel is numbered 125 under the loading lever and That is the only numbers I see. The top of the barrel is marked " MANHATTTTAN FIRE ARMS MANUF G. CO. NEW YORK". The cylinder rotates, but does not lock up. The action functions well aside from the lock up.  A nice example overall with some crisp engraving and cylinder scene.

These revolvers were carried in the Old West.
