Description

This 1875 holster shows the intertwined initials of Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. on the pouch of the holster. That makes for a very attractive company cartouch. Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. was a MAJOR wholesaler in Chicago in the 19th century, and many famous guns went to their holsters, from all arms makers. This is a flap type brown leather holster that would fit a Colt SAA sheriff's model revolver or a Merwin and Hulbert pocket Army or any short barreled large frame revolver. The holster is in overall good condition, showing the “stock” number 844 on the belt loop. The belt loop is also marked 7 1/2 which would indicate that this holster has been shortened from it's original length.
