This is the type of cavalry carbine most commonly used in the American Civil War. It takes hand rolled 54. Cal. paper cartridges which are easy and cheap to make! This breech loading sharps is in beautiful condition,The bore is extremely clean! I seriously doubt it has ever been fired. There are only a few, very minor handling marks in the stock near the toe, otherwise this carbine is spotless.
