This knife is from the 19th century. It has a horn handle with a brass pommel and guard. The blade shows some pitting and on the right side some vine engraving. On the left side this motto. In Spanish "Mejor muerte y no rendido" Translated to English.
"Best death and not surrender" Probably more like this. "Better death than surrender" The guard is a little loose, but will not come off.
Overall length 12 inches. The guard is brass. Blade shows some
minor pitting but is very sharp. A fighting knife for sure. No sheath.
In the old days, Mexicans were notoriously deadly knife fighters.
