Description

Remington model 1890, single action revolver, .44-40 caliber, 7-1/2” barrel, nickel finish, hard rubber grips both show a small repair on the heal., serial number “934”. With only 2,020 of these revolvers produced by Remington between 1891 and 1896, the M-1890 remains one of the most difficult of all the Remington revolvers for a collector to acquire.  The bore is remarkable clean with very strong and sharp rifling. The revolver shows approx. 25% original frosty nickel plate and has not been cleaned. Original factory lanyard ring. The barrel address is crisp, the caliber markings are clear on the left side of the frame. The action is good. The ejector rod housing and small parts are all original and many of the screws show original blue finish. The grips show drifting of the original black color to a light brownish patina. They also show 3 kill notches. It was the last revolver made by Remington. It is one of the most prized cowboy revolvers among Old West collectors, a handful of 1890s saw service as side arms carried by Native American police on western reservations.
ONLY 2020 MADE.
