Our Assessment: This is a very rare Remington Rolling Block .50-70 Caliber Rifle. The rifle has a 19” spike bayonet, ladder style rear sight (with graduations from 1 to 4), three barrel bands and band springs, front sight, 36” barrel, cleaning rod, walnut straight grip stock with a curved buttplate, and walnut stock.
Excellent bore. The bayonet, receiver, barrel and most of the metal components have brown patina and no pitting. The barrel bands and rear sight base are marked “B”. The stock and forestock are in good condition with scattered dings, dents. Overall, this Remington Rolling Block is in good used condition considering its age.
