RJT#3572 -

Description

Ceramic Crucible was used to melt and separate the precious metals from the ore. These were used by gold and silver miners in California and Arizona from 1880-1920, for assaying. Displays nicely , measures appx. 3" tall x 2 1/2" wide at the top. The white you see is chalk and will wash off if you want.

This a very neat antique mining crucible.

It is stamped "Battersea Round Morgan England", it also has what looks like a "A" on it.
