Description

This is a nice Whitneyville Armory Model No. 1 Wide Cylinder, 7 shot 22 rimfire revolver, serial number 20199B. These were made from 1871-1879. The mechanical function is perfect, crisp and tight. The bore is good plus with strong rifling and no corrosion. The barrel and frame are polished to a bright brass and nickel finish. The cylinder has been lightly cold blued. The grips retain 96% varnish. This is a 2.25” barrel on this little bird’s head grip revolver. This is the type of gun that ladies of the evening would carry to discourage unruly patrons in the 1870s. Or would serve equally as well as a vest pocket gun for a gambling gent in Old number 10.
