Description

MODEL 1904 McCLELLAN SADDLE STIRRUPS – 1ST PATTERN: This pair of Model 1904 1ST Pattern Stirrups, identified by the single layer of leather that makes up the hood, were definitely used as a matched pair. They have seen significant use in the field, but both are solid and intact. The stirrup strap are still attached and matches the overall age and appearance of the stirrups. The leather is crazed and shows wear. The "US" in the oval is illegible on both stirrups save for a bit of the oval or maybe it is only my imagination. The frames are solid. Model 1904 1ST Pattern Stirrups are anything but common, most having been used up during the course of service and were replaced with the 2nd Pattern Stirrups from inventory.
