These Gauntlet cavalry gloves were made by FOWNES GLOVES a manufacturer of fine gloves. Fownes Gloves was established in London in 1877 and was one of the world’s leading glove makers with offices and factories in many parts of the world. These gloves are Genuine Buckskin Gloves, unlined, with the finest stitching. They are worthy of any Cavalry officer or even the likes of Annie Oakley or Buffalo Bill. They are in very good used condition. Completely soft and flexable with no tears, no holes and no loose stitching. They have the makers mark on the gauntlet cuff snaps. I am selling these as a collectible. If you wear these they will surely loose value, but they would be great for photograph prop and would add value to any Old West Collection. Size 9 Medium. The super added feature is the “Folk-Art” American Eagle on the cuff. This type of work that has been seen on U.S. Cavalry officers gloves in the indian and Spanish wars and have been found with troopers serving in various areas of Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming. A very handsome and visually exciting display piece.
