RJT#4729 -

Description

This revolver was manufactured in Belgium to compete with the Colt 1877 Lightning, and marketed in the US in the late 19th century. Mechanically it stands up better than the Colt Lightning. It is a 6 shot double action with a 4 1/2 inch Barrel. The finish shows 90% original nickel. The original hard rubber grips are in perfect condition with no cracks or chips. These grips are the outstanding feature of this gun.  They have a monkey face and lady with a hat as well as floral relief designs.  The bore is bright and shinny with no pitting and very strong rifling. It is mechanically perfect and lock up is tight. Chambered for the .38 Long Colt Cartridge. It will also fire the .38 Short Colt cartridge. The top strap is marked FRONTIER  (not frontier army as found on its big brother) and the back of the cylinder has the Belgium proof marks. It has the look of a British Bull Dog revolver but with a longer barrel and longer grip. It would be a great addition to a British Bull Dog collection. I think it is quit rare.
