Marlin Rifle Model 1881, .38-55 caliber lever action, serial number 13675. Rare early top ejector model, second model manufactured 1886. This is a LIGHT WEIGHT MODEL with a 24 inch barrel and Marbles sights. There were 3563 Model 1881's produced in 38-55. Finish is gray blue overall. Straight wood stock with original stock and forearm, showing its age of 136 years, but with no chips or cracks in the stock. The varnish is original with normal wear. The character is enhanced by the unique repair of the forearm. Bore is in very good condition with sharp rifling and no pitting, and the action is very smooth.
