Description

Here is a battle field pick up, a combination saw and knife.  The Civil War Collectors encyclopedia states that these saws were used by surgeons as amputation tools. This example is marked DISSTON & BRO.. It is very rare to see a Disston & bro saw. The condition is poor, with a fully rusted blade and cracked handle, but still all complete. It has a 12 inch blade, with no broken or missing teeth.  An interesting and Rare saw. An original circa 1860 Civil War Surgeon’s field knife used for quick amputations on the battlefield.  The piece measures 18 inches in length and has a thick hard wood handle that is comfortable for gripping along with a long thin sawtooth blade made for easy cutting through flesh, muscle, and bone. This is truly a unique Early American Civil War or Indian Wars collector’s piece. We have priced it at $199.95 due to its condition. A bargain due to the fact that others commonly sell for $600.00 and up. All the props; amputations, bandages, blood, and truncates are included at no charge.
