Colt Paterson 9-Inch Barrel Slim Jim Holster
The Colt Paterson was among the earliest practical repeating handguns of the American West, and the Slim Jim holsters made for these revolvers were shaped around the gun rather than made with excess leather. This reproduction follows Paterson holsters seen in museums, keeping the close-fitting form and light construction of the originals. With a 5/6 oz leather, it carries a Colt Paterson with a 9-inch barrel or shorter while staying close to the body for a quick, unobstructed draw.
The open-toe design leaves the muzzle end clear, while the right-hand belt loop keeps the revolver positioned naturally for the draw. It fits belts up to 2 inches wide. This is simple gun leather for a revolver that was made to be carried, not dressed up.
Each holster is crafted for River Junction by our most talented leather-smith. The hide is cut in their shop, then worked and tooled at the bench before being dyed, oiled, and stitched up.
