For
a "Don't mess with me" woman or an outdoorsy dude, this unusual design
pin makes a bold statement. Marked Mexican Silver (sterling or higher
purity) the pin probably dates to the 1940s. It looks like a small
version of a Bowie knife with a double cutting blade at the tip and it
is sharp enough that it would function as a letter opener. The bolster
or guard is rounded and the handle is deeply incised and accentuated by
oxidation. It has a secure roll-over clasp.
The pin measures 3 7/8" long and is 7/16" high. It weighs 10.8 grams.
