Triple Loop Holster
The Triple Loop Holster comes from a style of Old West gun leather where good looks followed good workmanship. Holsters of this type were made to carry the long-barreled revolvers common during the later frontier period, while the rolled border, triple loops, and vine-and-leaf tooling gave the leather a little character without getting in the way of its purpose. Most of our holster patterns are copied from original pieces we have found, keeping the design close to the Old West gun leather that actually saw use.
This holster is shaped with a round, closed toe and is made for 7½- and 8-inch barreled Frontier-era revolvers. The triple loop construction gives the pouch a distinctive finished look, while the rolled border adds structure along the edge. A vine-and-leaf border pattern is hand stamped into the leather, following the sort of decorative handwork found on period holsters.
It will fit most revolvers with 7, 7½, and 8-inch barrels, including many Colts, Smith & Wessons, Rugers, Remingtons, and similar Frontier-style revolvers. As with any fitted holster, revolver dimensions can vary, so we recommend checking your particular firearm before ordering.
Each holster is Made in the USA for River Junction by our experienced leather-smith. The leather is cut from the hide, worked and tooled at the bench, then dyed, oiled, and sewn by hand. Hand sewing provides a strong, longer lasting, stitch that holds up better than ordinary machine stitching.
