RJT#5907 -

Description

"Colt New Service .38-40 caliber revolver. Manufactured 1917. Barrel length 7 ½". Bore is very good with bright and shinny deep sharp rifling. Action works perfectly. Gun has a good looking blue overall with no wear or pits. Gun has a fine pair of Colt Medallion checkered walnut grips in near perfect condition. These grips look great and are factory original to this gun and fit perfectly. Gun comes with what I believe is the holster originally purchased with the gun from  W. S. Brown Guns & Revolvers, Fishing Tackle, Pittsburgh, Pa.  W. S. Brown Guns & Revolvers, Fishing Tackle, offered All Kinds of Sporting Goods. By way of a little history, this is what I could find on the web: Brown & Hirth purchased the Enterprise Gun Works from James Brown in 1883. William S. Brown and August Hirth had a five year partnership. In 1887 Hirth retired from the company and W.S. Brown became the sole owner.  A very colorful rig. The catalog cover shown is not included.
