RJT#6018 -

Description

Belgium Copy of a Smith & Wesson Double Action Frontier Mod.  Chambered for .44-40 Win. Caliber. It is marked "C.F.W." on the lower left side of the frame. That stands for "Center Fire Western" and also identifies it as a .44-40 Winchester Caliber. The only other marking is the word BELGIUM on the under side of the frame next to the hing.  The barrel measures 5 5/8 inches and has a very clean shinny shoot-able bore with strong rifling. This is a top-break, auto-eject, double action six shot revolver based on the S&W Patent Style. The double action functions perfectly, strong hammer spring and lock up , single action also works well. There is little to no pitting or rust on the gun. There is very little original blue on the gun with a smooth finish. It is Shown here with an original antique holster (A PERFECT FIT) our number RJT# 6020 sold separately for $185.00. The main feature of this gun, is the fact that some bunkhouse cowboy artist made a pair of cow bone grips for it. They are in very good condition with no cracks or chips and are worth $300 on their own.  This would make an interesting addition to the Smith & Wesson collection to show the period patent infringements of the day, c1870's.  It is a piece of history that you can now own at reasonable price.   You can find these advertised in the Sears & Roebuck and Montgomery catalogs of the 1880s. We always answer questions and entertain offers.

The antique holster shown in photos sold separately.  SEE IT HERE - https://www.riverjunction.com/6020
