z Sold Antique holster for 5 1/2 inch barreled Colt SAA, S&W and others

Original vintage Holster and belt circa 1880 to1890. Civilian holster from the Old West era. This classic holster with its rolled on border stamping is most attractive. This was a popular civilian style of the 80's and 90's. and beyond. Double loop style with a sewn main seam and closed toe were common. Made of medium weight russet colored leather. This holster could be worn as right hand draw or cross draw. It fits a 1873 Colt Single Action Army with a 5 1/2 inch barrel. The leather is soft and pliable. It would be perfect for displaying with your original vintage Colt or you could  just use it. All the stitches are strong and intact. The holster has the catalog numbers 948 and 27. The belt caliber loops fit a .38 Long Colt or .more likely a .41 Colt cartridge and measure 41 inches to the center hole for buckling. Both were popular at the time.  There are 33 bullet loops and all loops are well stitched on and intact.  A nice,  holster and belt hard to find in this good of a condition. Vintage leather holster made for the catalog trade of the time. This holster is in remarkably good condition and likely has been sitting in a drawer for many years. Nice for the collector to show off his vintage Colt six gun or S&W Frontier. This is a old western double loop style holster.  It is a perfect fit for my 5 1/2 in. barrel Colt SAA but would service equally as well for a Colt Bisley 5 1/2", a Colt 1878 D.A. 5 1/2",  or a S&W D.A. or S.A. Frontier 6 ". Double loop holsters are rarely found in this fine condition. There are no breaks or tears and the stitching is all tight. It is ready to give use or display.  My shooters are not included.
