Percussion Revolver 51 Navy Pietta. The 1851 Navy was one of the most popular handguns in the Colt line and
became the favorite of the soldier in the Civil War. After the war, this
revolver helped tame the Western frontier. Gun is .36 caliber, blued 7
1/2" tapered, octagon with 1 piece select hardwood grips. 1 in 30"
twist.
Cylinder engraved with naval scene. Front sight brass bead and rear
sight V-notch in hammer nose. Length 13-1/2 in. Weight: 2 pounds 9
ounces. Steel frame with case color hardened finish. The original 1851
Yank revolver was as much a part of the trail to the
West as the Americans who traveled it. Wild Bill Hickock even carried a
pair with ivory grips on the trail and during his lawman days in
