Description

A beautiful Large Powder horn. These large Plain Military Type powder horns are typical of the North Eastern US-it has a beautiful original patina- and is in overall very nice antique condition-it's quite impressive measuring 16" long double curve. I guaranteed it to be of the late 1770s, or earlier. The photos give an accurate description of flaws and damage so please spend time examining them. A large antique powder horn with a great beveled shaping and brass brad nails securing the plug. The large wood plug looks to have been hand carved, not turned. It has an iron staple in the plug with a brass ring. There is one small moth surface chew. You will have to search hard to find it.The horn surface has a beautiful caramel colored patina with bevels running from collar to plug. The spout is made of brass. I can not tell if it was poured or turned in any case it is a distinguishing feature. Other items show are not included.this is a really beautiful horn.
