Description

A genuine 10 Ga. Remington model 1889 Coach Gun / Saw off shotgun. Used by stagecoach companies, express companies, bank guards, jail and prison guards for the formidable and terrorizing effects that they could bring to bear.  What a colorful and dramatic weapon. Notice the wear on the but plate, indicating several mile in dutiful service. Also the expert inlay repair work on the wrist. That kind of work was done in the day when gunsmiths were REAL artists.  Feel this legendary tool transport you back to when your shotgun was your best line of defense. Features 20", barrels and a overall length of 37".  Lock up is tight and secure without  a HINT of MOVEMENT.  The stock with its wonderful repair is the most colorful feature. The wood generally shows many nicks and scratches from the days when it was treated only as a tool.   The metal has no original finish, but is not rusted or pitted. The barrel rib is marked "E. REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY ILION, NY U.S.A.". The bores are pitted as all blackpowder shotguns of this era, but both actions work perfectly. This is a fun to shoot, we recommend that you use ammo from a re-loader that loads to 19th century specifications. There are no dents in the bores.
