Although there is no catalog numbers visible on this holster,I am sure it was shop made and machine sewn. All stitches are strong and intact, however I believe it has been re-sewn at some time. The workmanship is very good, like that of Heiser. A Mexican loop style with conchos added. It fits a Colt Single Action 5 1/2 inch barrel and would fit others as well. The leather is fully alive and would give a century of service or displaying with your vintage pistola. One feature that is somewhat puzzling Is the quarter size hole cut in the top of the skirt. (see pictures) . Why is it there? Well, I believe it was done to allow the owner to lace his suspenders through to provide more support for his old hog leg. I have seen similar devices before. It is the type of thing that makes collecting interesting, finding the story behind in the treasured item.
