RJT#6360 -

Description

An old, Sawed Off Shotgun with 18 inch barrels.  (YES IT IS LEGAL ANTIQUE PERCUSSION GUNS DO NOT HAVE A BARREL LENGTH RESTRICTION) It has an overall length of 36 inches.  The ramrod is 19 inches long.  I believe the wood has been refinish at some time and in general strong and smooth.  The locks are marked “J. N. Scotts” and both left and right, function crisply. The gun has a brown patina, and has not been cleaned.  The locks, have traces of engraving.  The gun dates from the late 1850's period. This was typical of trade shotguns of the era.  If you ever wanted a sawed off percussion shotgun to compliment your display, this is it.  I don't have a clue as to the history of the gun.  Could it be Confederate? Sure, or maybe an express agents gun. The tacks on the stock make me think that it might be an Indian canoe gun,  It sure is interesting in an ugly sort of way.
