Description
This light brown leather holster was manufactured by S.D. Myres in El Paso, Texas. Samuel Dale Myres' (1871-1952) saddlery business first operated out of Sweetwater, Texas, in 1898-1919 and then El Paso in 1920-1969. Uncle Sam reportedly knew Pancho Villa, Colonel Joe C. Miller, Pawnee Bill, Theodore Roosevelt, and General George C. Patton and counted them among his customers. His goods were also used by Gene Autry, John Wayne, Tom Mix and Wallace Berry Jr . The jock strap style holster has tooled floral patterns and "S.D MYRES/EL PASO" on the top of the strap at the center. This holster is in virtually NEW condition and certainly was not used. The belt was made by Geo. Lawrence Co. Portland Or. a contemporary of Myers. It also is in exceptional condition. The Packing Iron book pictures a S.D. Myres holster on page 125. This holster is a perfect fit for a Colt SAA 4 3/4 inch and the belt will hold ..38-40.44-40, .45 Colt and many others. The condition of both belt and holster is EXCELLENT. My Colt and other items are not included.
