Description

 Early antique Folk Art Cane.  IRISH FOLK ART.  A wonderful example in original antique condition. The head is that of a  LEPRECHAUN.  This rare stick measures 35” long, and weighs less than 1/2 pound. The face is 2” tall by 1 1/2” cheek to cheek. Such items are much sought after by Civil War collectors as a symbols of the Irish brigade.  This very sturdy cane has 35 hard thorn bumps along the shaft. The shaft is very solid with no breaks or cracks. It has a brass metal tip to keep the wood from wearing. The top of the cane is a carved mans head with glass eyes, and flat top hat. The old patina on the cane is great and you can tell it was loved a for many years. It as one chip out of the nose, but is not in anyway weakened. It is in good condition for its age and still has years of use and enjoyment left in it. This is the type of item that lends great authenticity to you re-enactor persona and displays well in your collection.
