Description

Scarce Colt New Service Revolver with Elk Stag grips, .455 ELEY made for England in 1916, with 5.5" barrel, fixed sights, with two-line address/patent markings on top of the barrel, caliber marking on the left side of barrel, "V" on the left trigger guard and the Rampant Colt on the side plate. Matching serial numbers on frame and crane. Lanyard ring on butt. As typical for English revolvers, a generous scattering of British proofs on left/right/back of frame along with rear surface of cylinder. Condition: Good original finish with the majority wear on barrel. Balance of pistol VG. Cylinder indexes correctly. Mirror bore. One of the more unusual New Service, both in caliber and grips. Up-sized and strengthened Colt M1892 and Colt Firearms first large caliber revolver with a swing-out hand ejector cylinder. The holster and belt are available for $395.00. I collect holster and you would have to look long and hard to find a large antique western holster for this big frame Colt.
