Description

The 1851 Navy was one of the most popular handguns in the Colt line and became the favorite of the soldier in the Civil War. After the war, this revolver helped tame the Western frontier. Gun is .36 caliber, STAINLESS STEEL 7 1/2" tapered, octagon with 1 piece polymer grips with Eagle and Shield. 1 in 30" twist. Cylinder engraved with naval scene. Front sight brass bead and rear sight V-notch in hammer nose. Length 13-1/2 in. Weight: 2 pounds 9 ounces. All Stainless Steel frame, cylinder and frame with brass back strap and trigger guard. This combination of parts are very rare to find. The original 1851 Yank revolver was as much a part of the trail to the West as the Americans who traveled it. Wild Bill Hickock even carried a pair with ivory grips on the trail and during his lawman days in Abilene. Made by Pietta in Italy.
