FOREHAND & WADSWORTH Antique “BRITISH BULL-DOG” Double Action .32 REVOLVER This is an antique Forehand & Wadsworth “BRITISH BULL-DOG”
.32 Caliber Double Action Revolver, made circa the mid-1880s with a
production run from 1879 to 1890 in Worchester, Massachusetts. It appears as if it were purchased brand new just yesterday. The
revolver is a small, well-built, self-defense weapon, ideal for a lady traveling alone or a gent who planned to venture into an evening of cards and liquer. It was made by the sons-in-law of Ethan Allen, the successful
firearms inventor and manufacturer from the 1830s. This revolver
features a double/single action trigger and six shots of .32. The top
strap is marked “BRITISH/BULL-DOG”. These were petite and handy little guns that chambered 6 cartridges,
perfect for the pocket and enough to get out of most scrapes.
