This here’s a proper Texas shoulder holster, made the way they used to be—by hand, one at a time, out of good, honest leather. It’ll fit your revolver with a 3 to 4 inch barrel just right, and it’ll keep it safe, snug, and close to the body where it belongs. None of that stiff, bulky modern junk that shifts around and wears you out before noon. This rig was made to ride all day, and ride easy.
It’s cut from 6 to 7 ounce natural hide—lighter than what most folks use nowadays, but that’s on purpose. That’s how they did it back in the day, and for good reason. Lays flat, wears smooth, and won’t dig into your ribs when you’re on the move. A Hammer strap has also been added to make sure your short barrel doesn't go anywhere. We had these done in a rich Mahogany, then they are sewn up by hand the old-fashioned way, the strong way. No machines, no shortcuts.
The border stamping on the pouch was chosen to match the originals we’ve studied over the years. We don’t make guesses—we build from history. The strap holds it steady on your shoulder, and you can choose right or left-hand draw, just how you like it.
Now don’t confuse this with those flashy Huckleberry rigs folks parade around in movies. Those are too heavy, too stiff, and they just won’t stay put. They’re built for looks, not for working or wearing. This one here—this is the real deal.
If you’ve got a longer barrel, say 7 ½ or 8 inches, you’ll want to look up item #7016. But if what you need is a true-to-form holster that’s made for the trail, for the draw, and to last—well, you just found it.
Each one’s made for River Junction by our skilled leather-smith who still works the bench with bare hands and sharp tools. Every cut, every stitch, every drop of dye—done the way it ought to be. All that, at a price even a working man can shake hands on.
We only have 2 of these, a Right and a Left so get yours while you can!
