SMALL antique early 1800s handmade wood round top
trunk shaped document / treasures box. It still has lots of hair-on-hide covering. Most boxes like this have had the hair eaten of by bugs. It is rare to find one in this good condition. Most of the original brass tacks are still in place. The hand-made
latch and lock are still in place and well secured.. Lock is missing the key. The original brass metal handle is solidly attached to the top. Leather banding with brass tack for decoration are all as they were 200 years ago. The lid hinges are actually leather, fragile but yet still in place. the Colonial grey painted paper lining is clean in very good condition.
Measures 6" wide by 6" tall by 10" long. A great
addition to any home, office, or den, and gun room. A nice accent piece in your home.
