Colt 1878 Double Action Light Antique Jigged Bone Grips
The Colt 1878 Double Action came out of the working revolver tradition of the late 19th-century West, when a sidearm was expected to be useful first and decorative second. These light-antiqued jigged bone grips follow that old West style, much like the kind of work a cowboy might have done in the bunkhouse after a long day’s ride or around the campfire when there was time to work on his gear.
The jigging served a purpose beyond looks. It gave the hand a better hold on the revolver, while also giving plain bone the look of stag without the cost or need for a piece of antler.
